Of Adoption and Memories of my Mother

This is the first of more personal commentary VLOGs.

The LIFE tag will be where I talk about life lessons, new experiences, goals, dreams and aspirations.

First up - I made this because I was thinking about my mother who passed this day in 2018. I can’t believe it has been eight years.

This anniversary coincides with China's Qingming Festival - Tomb-sweeping Day. I’ve become more interested in all things China since my first visit there in 2011. Learning about this Festival has been helpful with my reflecting and growth. It’s good to focus on the memories that I have of her.

A long story shortened (I may do a full VLOG/post in the future), my mother came out to NZL in 1967, met my father, produced me and gave me up for adoption. I’ve been raised by an amazing couple and couldn’t ask for more.

I always knew I was adopted and tracked my mother down in 2007 (I think) and it wasn’t until 2011 that I was able to travel to the UK to meet her for the first time. I met her three times in total before she passed.

What I know is that she lives on in me.
