Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Walk

One of my favourite places to visit, 45 minutes from Auckland’s CBD is the Kaipara Coast Plant Centre & Sculpture Walk.

This place is a labour of love - yes, a true independently-owned garden centre (we should always support these locals!) that also has 3.5km of walks featuring many sculptures and artworks in situ.

Every November, artists are invited to install new works reflecting NZ flora, societal challenges and the location they’re sited in. Every November means you can return every year to discover something new.

On the way you should definitely stop off at Gather & Graze Eatery. An excellent refreshed and refurbished locally-owned cafe. I definitely recommend it.

There’s also Swiss Bliss - a home of really tasty handcrafted chocolate treats. Again, it’s good to support local artisans!
