Revisiting the Auckland War Memorial Museum

Sunday was a lovely day, so I took myself to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. It’s one of the more interesting sites in Auckland, and free to visit for Auckland residents. (And about $30 for out-of-towners).

It’s a good base to learn Auckland’s story and history as well as touching on the origins of New Zealand.

It’s a great place to bring kids and expose them to the importance of understanding the past so we can grow in the future.

A bonus was that earlier in the week I’d been able to go on a rooftop tour - these have been running since late last year for the Summer months. That was entirely new and very interesting!

And of course, since it’s close by, a visit to the Wintergarden was warranted. One of my favourite places in the city.
