Of Thermometers

I needed a thermometer. It was time. I had been without one for too long. And I wanted to know the temperature in my apartment.I was finally in a headspace where I could take a few risks. Put myself out there, and start looking.I picked up a stationery catalogue. I know, I’m weak. I started flicking through the pages. And WOW.There it was. In a digital world, I had found a thermometer with traditional values. Sure, the packaging was a bit ordinary, but that can be changed easily enough, right? And besides, its really whats on the inside that counts.I took it home and waited excitedly for a reading. 32°C. What? I was pretty certain my place isn’t that hot. I checked again at 10pm. 32°C. Hmm. A tad optimistic of the thermometer. I decided to put it in the fridge to test it and went to bed.A new day!The reading? 32°C. Crap.OK.Now I’m in a quandary. I found the thermometer of my dreams. I obtained it. I took it home and removed the packaging. It was clearly giving me mixed signals but still stayed overnight. I was committed... but...I don’t know what to do. It has flaws. But are they are deal breaker? I am afraid that they are. I need clarity and communication.I’m going to have to dump it. Move on. For another. And so the quest for the perfect thermometer love continues.- SimonPS. I know... it’s been a weird Friday! Don't judge me.
