Of Movember - A Summary

This year is the first year in my life that I decided to grow facial hair. I did not know if I actually could. I did not know what colour it would be. I did not know if I’d like it or not.The reason was to support Movember. And also to out-grow and potentially out-man one of my work colleagues. I think I won, but he’s still pretty manly. So, progress and observations..Start day: November 1st and I really was nervous about this.November 4th:What was funny is at around this time my kids started calling me 'Mr Moustachio'...The week of November 9th was the week that I had my first doctors appointment in living memory. The point of Movember is to raise funds and awareness for Men’s Health - specifically Prostate Cancer research and Depression. I figured I may as well get involved a little more directly. Happily, I have a clean bill of health. It is good to know where my health is.The week of November 15th was strange. I went to St. Lukes Mall with my kids and within 30 minutes had two MEN give me the glad-eye and wink. A little concerning. Then a few days later visiting a client, a guy referred to my mo’ as being delicious. Now delicious is not a word a man usually says to another man about anything on that other mans’ person. It was around November 23rd that I realised I had a problem. I had scheduled a date. With an actual for-real lady. And I was looking really creepy. I did a little research and discovered that there is an unwritten Movember clause that basically says, if there is a chance of personal contact with a woman and your mo’ may prevent that from occurring then get rid of it. Don’t be a martyr.November 26th was the day of the date and my final moustached day. Shaving it off? Totally worth it. More on that soon.Simon.
