Of Men's Health - Part Three
I just wanted to follow up on my post about Men's Health. As this is Movember, I went to the doctors for the first time in living memory for an overall baseline checkup. I had no idea how healthy I was. Partaking in the moustache-growing inspired me to do what all men should do, and most don't.After my appointment, I went and got my blood taken for testing. Again, this is not something I can recall ever having done before.Summary of experience:Easy parking. Efficient service.Needles. Not as bad as you'd think. The best part of this exercise was the results. I have slightly elevated Cholesterol readings and slightly high Blood Pressure. These are things that are on the improve as I have made an effort to change my diet and increase exercise. I can only assume that they were much much worse a year ago.So. I'm healthy. Getting fitter. And pretty much enjoying life. Knowing where I stand medically is a quite calming.Guys... Just go. If you haven't had a checkup for a while, just go.Simon.
